The Logos MSc programme consists of three identical courses within three different Masters programmes of the Université Paris Cité :

the Masters in History and Philosophy of Science (“HPS”)

the Masters in Language Sciences (“SDL”)

the Masters in Mathematical Logic and Foundations of Computer Science (“LMFI”)

The Masters of HPS operates within the department of History and Philosophy of Sciences of the Institute Humanities, Sciences, Societies (IHSS).

The LI Master operates within the Linguistics UFR.

The Master LMFI operates within the UFR of Mathematics.

You may apply to any of the three and will obtain the same degree since

each of these three masters courses includes a “Logos” course which is exactly the same. The choice is yours depending primarily on which orientation you feel most comfortable given your background etc. Identical admission criteria operate across the three departments for this programme (and for this programme only).

Applying to the Logos Master’s program means applying to the “Logos” course in one of the three Master’s programs (of your choice).

IMPORTANT: All applications are made online only on the University Paris Cité website, via the [e-candidat] portal.

The prerequisites are, for example, a bachelor’s degree in science (mathematics, physics, life and earth sciences, chemistry), a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, or an engineering degree.

Dates of the application campaign for the Master HPS (on e-candidat) :

1) Main phase: from 02 to 22 May 2022 (Masters year 1 (M1) and Masters year 2 (M2) )

Deadline for submission of supporting documents: May 25, 2022

Invitation to individual motivation interviews: from June 13 to 22, 2022

2) Complementary phase: from June 20 to June 25, 2022 (for Master year 1 only)

Deadline for submission of supporting documents: June 26, 2022

Invitation to individual motivation interviews: from July 7 to 11, 2022.

+ Applying for the Master in Language Sciences

The Logos course provides skills similar to those of the “Computational Linguistics” course of the [Masters in language Sciences].

Applications for all the courses in the Master of Language Sciences, for both M1 and M2, are made through the e-candidat portal.

Dates of the application campaign for the Master HPS (on e-candidat) :

1) Main phase:

from 07/03/2022 to 02/06/2022 for the M1

from 07/03/2022 to 30/06/2022 for the M2.

2) Complementary phase :

from 25/06/2022 to 6/7/2022 for M1

22/08/2022 to 05/09/2022 for the M1.

3) Second complementary phase (only for M1) :

07/14/2022 to 07/18/2022
